IELTS

IELTS is a test developed by the world’s leading experts in language assessment on four key English language skills: listening, reading, writing and speaking. It is designed to assess the language ability of people who aim to study, work, immigrate and integrate in an English-speaking environment.

More than 11,000 organisations globally trust IELTS, so when you take the test you can be confident that it is recognised by educational institutions, employers, governments and professional bodies around the world.

We Train Anyone offers a range of IELTS preparation courses to help candidates develop key skills tested in the IELTS exam. Candidates are prepared for the test through a combination of language skills training and test practice. Weekly classes are based on a relevant topic area, allowing candidates to build up experience of a range of topics covered in the exam.

OET

The OET (Occupational English Test) is designed to meet the specific English language needs of the healthcare sector. It assesses the language proficiency of healthcare professionals who wish to practise in an English-speaking environment. It ensures a valid assessment on the basic four language skills such as reading, writing, listening and speaking. Each of these tests together makeup the OET exam and is graded from A to E, where A grade is the highest and E being the lowest.

We Train Anyone offers a range of OET preparation courses to help candidates develop key skills tested in the OET exam. Candidates are prepared for the test through a combination of language skills training and test practice. Weekly classes are based on a relevant topic area, allowing candidates to build up experience of a range of topics covered in the exam.

Requirements

Nurses require a 7.0 in all modules for the IELTS exam (minimum 6.5 in Writing) to be able to register with the NMC. Where a Nurse is taking the OET exam, they must achieve a “B” grade in all modules (minimum “C+” in writing) if they wish to use this as proof of their English language proficiency.

However, in the case of a Senior Care Assistant, the requirements are not so high. These are outlined below:

IELTS – minimum 5.5 in all modules

OET – minimum grade “C” (“B2” CEFR scale)

This will ensure the candidate not only has the skill to communicate in an interview, but will also be able to communicate effectively within their job role.

UK ENIC (formerly UK NARIC)

Where an SCA candidate has not taken an IELTS or OET English exam, they can have their degree level qualification verified through the UK ENIC service. This service compares the candidates overseas gained qualification with it’s UK equivalent. Furthermore, they will provide an English language assessment to confirm the level of English that the course was delivered and taught in
